531 Calculator – Easy & Accurate Calculation Tool

This tool helps you calculate your weekly lift goals based on the 531 strength training program.

How to Use the 531 Calculator

To use the 531 calculator, you need to know your One-Rep Max (1RM) for a given lift. Follow these steps:

  1. Enter your One-Rep Max (1RM) in the input box.
  2. Select the training week from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the Calculate button.
  4. The calculator will display the recommended weights and repetitions for that week.

How It Calculates the Results

The 531 calculator uses the following formula to determine the recommended weights:

  • Week 1: 65% x Training Max (TM) for 5 reps, 75% x TM for 5 reps, 85% x TM for 5+ reps
  • Week 2: 70% x TM for 3 reps, 80% x TM for 3 reps, 90% x TM for 3+ reps
  • Week 3: 75% x TM for 5 reps, 85% x TM for 3 reps, 95% x TM for 1+ reps
  • Week 4: 40% x TM for 5 reps, 50% x TM for 5 reps, 60% x TM for 5 reps

Your Training Max (TM) is calculated as 90% of your One-Rep Max (1RM).

Limitations of the Calculator

This calculator assumes you have an accurate One-Rep Max (1RM). Ensure you safely determine your 1RM beforehand. It does not account for individual differences in physiology or recovery capacity. Always consult with a qualified coach or trainer for personalized advice.
