How to Use the Hit Points (HP) Calculator
Using the HP Calculator is simple. Just follow these steps:
- Enter your character’s Level in the appropriate field.
- Enter the value of your character’s Hit Dice.
- Input your character’s Constitution Modifier.
- Press the Calculate button to see your character’s total Hit Points.
How the Calculator Works
The calculator takes your character’s level, hit dice, and constitution modifier to calculate the total hit points as per D&D 5th Edition rules:
- It starts with your hit dice value at first level.
- From the second level on, it adds the average of your hit dice (rounded down) plus 1, then adds your constitution modifier to this value for each level.
- This process is repeated for each level to get your total Hit Points.
Limitations of the Calculator
Please note that this calculator assumes standard progression without taking into account additional factors such as feats, temporary hit points, or other abilities that might alter your hit points. It also does not account for rolling hit points at each level; instead, it uses the average-rolling convention recommended in most 5e games.
