How to Use the Swiss Triangle Calculator
Enter the lengths of two sides and the angle in degrees between them. Click “Calculate” to find the length of the third side.
How It Works
This calculator uses the law of cosines to determine the length of the third side of the triangle:
c = √(a² + b² – 2ab * cos(γ))
Where:
- a and b are the lengths of the sides
- c is the length of the side to find
- γ is the angle between sides a and b
Limitations
The calculator does not validate input values beyond requiring them to be numbers. Make sure to enter positive values for sides and an angle between 0 and 180 degrees. Values outside this range will lead to incorrect calculations or errors.
