How It Calculates the Results
The calculator computes the molecular weight by summing the standard molecular weights of each amino acid in the sequence. The values are based on the molecular weights of the 20 standard amino acids.
Limitations
This calculator assumes standard peptide bonds and does not account for post-translational modifications, non-standard amino acids, or unusual linkages which could affect the actual molecular weight. Special characters and spaces should not be included, and only standard amino acids represented by their one-letter codes should be used. It is important to verify the calculated molecular weight with actual experimental data.
