Era Calculator
How to Use the ERA Calculator:
- Enter the total number of Earned Runs allowed by a pitcher.
- Enter the total number of Innings Pitched.
- Click the “Calculate” button to compute the Earned Run Average (ERA).
How the Calculator Works:
The Earned Run Average (ERA) is calculated using the formula: (Earned Runs / Innings Pitched) * 9. The result gives the average number of earned runs a pitcher would allow over a 9 inning game.
Limitations:
This calculator assumes that all inputs are accurate and that partial innings are entered as decimals (for example, 1/3 of an inning should be input as 0.33). The calculator does not validate for negative numbers or non-numeric values which can result in incorrect calculations. Always verify your inputs for accuracy.
