This tool helps you calculate the video storage space you need based on your video quantity and quality.
Video Storage Calculator
This calculator helps you estimate the storage required for your videos based on resolution, frames per second (FPS), bitrate, and video length.
How to Use:
- Select the video resolution.
- Input the frames per second (FPS) value.
- Input the bitrate value in Megabits per second (Mbps).
- Input the total length of the video in minutes.
- Click the “Calculate” button to get the storage estimation.
How it Calculates:
This calculator multiplies the bitrate (in Mbps) by the total length of the video in minutes, and then converts this value from Megabits to Megabytes (MB). The formula used is:
Storage (MB) = (Bitrate (Mbps) × Length (minutes) × 60) / 8
Note: This calculation assumes constant bitrate encoding and may vary for different encoding methods.
Limitations:
- The calculator assumes a constant bitrate and may not be accurate for variable bitrate encoding.
- Only the primary factors (resolution, FPS, bitrate, length) are considered and may not reflect real-world storage exactly.
