How to Use the IBAN Calculator

This IBAN calculator allows you to generate an International Bank Account Number (IBAN) based on provided bank codes, branch codes, and account numbers along with the ISO country code. Follow these steps to use the calculator:

  1. Enter your Bank Code.
  2. Enter your Branch Code.
  3. Enter your Account Number.
  4. Enter your two-letter Country Code (e.g., ‘DE’ for Germany).
  5. Click “Calculate” to get the IBAN.

How It Calculates

The calculator concatenates the bank code, branch code, account number, and country code to form a BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number). It then rearranges the BBAN by appending the numeric value of the country code and ’00’ check digits at the end. The entire sequence is then divided by 97 to compute the remainder which is used to determine the IBAN check digits. The final IBAN is generated by combining the country code, the calculated check digits, and the BBAN.

Limitations

  • This calculator assumes valid formatting for bank codes, branch codes, and account numbers.
  • The tool does not verify the bank or branch codes against any database, it solely processes the entered data.
  • Please ensure all fields are populated correctly as the calculator performs minimal validation beyond basic alphanumeric checks.
