HVAC Calculator

This HVAC Calculator will help you estimate the size of the air conditioning unit needed for your space.

How to Use:

  • Enter the length, width, and height of the room in feet.
  • Select the insulation level of your room. Options include Good, Average, and Poor.
  • Enter the number of windows in the room.
  • Enter the number of occupants regularly in the room.
  • Click the Calculate button to see the results.

Calculation Method:

The calculator computes the volume of the room and multiplies it by a BTU factor based on the insulation level. Additional BTUs are added for every window and occupant as follows:

  • Good insulation: Volume * 25 BTU
  • Average insulation: Volume * 35 BTU
  • Poor insulation: Volume * 45 BTU
  • Each window: +1000 BTU
  • Each occupant: +600 BTU

Limitations:

  • This calculator provides an estimate and may not account for all room-specific factors like direct sunlight exposure or electronic appliances present in the room.
  • For precise HVAC requirements, consulting a professional is recommended.
