Air Conditioning Replacement Cost Calculator – Estimate Your AC Unit Price

Use this air conditioning replacement tool to quickly calculate the cost of installing a new AC unit based on your home’s specific needs.

How to Use the Air Conditioning Replacement Calculator

Input the square footage of your home, the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating of your old air conditioning unit, and the SEER rating of the new unit you are considering. The calculator will estimate the annual cost savings of replacing your old AC unit with the new one. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Enter your home’s total square footage.
  2. Enter the SEER rating of your old AC unit.
  3. Enter the SEER rating of the new AC unit you are considering for replacement.
  4. Click on the ‘Calculate’ button to see your estimated cost savings per year.

How the Calculator Works

The calculator estimates the yearly cost savings based on improvements in SEER ratings and average usage. It assumes 1 ton of AC is used per 500 square feet, an average energy cost per kWh (13.19 cents as an example), and that the AC is run for 8 hours a day for 150 days a year. It calculates the difference in energy consumption between the old and new unit and then multiplies it by the cost savings.

Limitations of the Calculator

The calculator provides an estimate based on the information supplied and average energy costs. It does not account for factors such as climate, electricity price changes, or specific usage patterns. For precise savings, we recommend conducting a detailed energy audit or consulting with an HVAC professional.
