Use this AP Lang score calculator to easily determine your potential score on the Advanced Placement Language and Composition exam.

## AP Lang Score Calculator

### How to Use the Calculator

Input your correct answers for the multiple-choice section (0-45) and your scores for each of the three essays (1-9) into the calculator above, then click “Calculate” to find out your estimated AP Lang exam score.

### How It Works

The calculator estimates your AP Lang score using a weighted system. The multiple-choice section counts for 45% of your score, while each essay contributes 55% of your score when combined. Your multiple-choice score is simply the number of questions you got correct. Each essay is scored from 1 to 9; these scores are then scaled to fit the composite score. Finally, the calculator applies a scoring chart to estimate what your final AP score would be, on a scale from 1 to 5.

### Limitations

Please note this calculator is an estimation and cannot account for all variables such as specific question difficulty or reader leniency in essay scoring. As official scoring distributions change each year, these scores are based on previous years’ scoring guidelines.
