Average Down Calculator
How it Works
This average down calculator helps you to determine the new average price per share after purchasing additional shares at a different price. To use the calculator, input:
- The number of shares you already own (Initial Shares).
- The price at which you bought those shares (Initial Price).
- The number of additional shares you are buying (Additional Shares).
- The price at which you are buying the additional shares (Additional Price).
After entering all these numbers, click the Calculate button to find out your new average cost per share.
How to Use It
- Enter the number of shares you currently own in the “Initial Shares” field.
- Enter the price at which you purchased those shares in the “Initial Price” field.
- Enter the number of additional shares you wish to purchase in the “Additional Shares” field.
- Enter the price for the additional shares in the “Additional Price” field.
- Click the “Calculate” button to see your new average price per share.
Limitations
The calculator assumes that all shares are of the same type and does not account for different classes of shares or investments. Transaction costs are also not included in the calculation. The results are based on numerical inputs and do not take into account market conditions or changes after the calculation. Always consult with a financial advisor for detailed investment advice.
