How It Calculates the Results
The calculator uses the Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) to estimate the calories burned. The MET value varies with different speeds of running. The formula used is:
Calories Burned = (MET Value * 3.5 * weight in kg * time in minutes) / 200
Based on your entered running speed, an appropriate MET value is chosen to calculate the calories burned.
Limitations
This calculator provides an estimated number of calories burned and may not be 100% accurate for every individual. Factors such as terrain, running efficiency, and individual metabolic rate can affect the actual number of calories burned.
