This tool will help you calculate the constant of proportionality for any directly proportional relationship between two variables.
Constant of Proportionality Calculator
How to Use the Calculator
Enter a value in the first field and the total it corresponds to in the second field. Then click on the “Calculate” button to get the constant of proportionality. The result will appear in the Result field. The value should represent a part of the total you’re interested in. For example, if you have 2 cups of flour out of a total recipe that calls for 8 cups, you would enter 2 for the value and 8 for the total.
How it Calculates Results
The calculator divides the input value by the total to find the constant of proportionality. The constant of proportionality is the ratio that describes the proportional relationship between two quantities.
Limitations
The calculator cannot compute the result if either the input value or total is missing or if the total is zero. It is essential to make sure that both fields have numbers and that the total is not zero for the calculation to work properly.
