This tool calculates your decathlon score based on your performance in each event.
How to Use the Decathlon Scorer Calculator
This decathlon scorer calculator allows you to input the results of ten decathlon events and calculates the overall score based on standard scoring tables. Fill in each event’s result in the appropriate unit and click “Calculate” to see the overall score.
Calculation Details
The calculator uses the World Athletics scoring tables with constants for each event to calculate the points. The formula used is:
Points = A * (B – P)^C for track events (100m, 400m, 110m hurdles, 1500m)
Points = A * (P – B)^C for field events (long jump, shot put, high jump, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw)
Where:
- A, B, C are the event-specific constants.
- P is the performance in the event.
Limitations
The calculator assumes standard units (meters or seconds) and does not account for any potential errors in input. The value must be positive, and for events like jumps, the unit must be in meters for input but will convert internally to centimeters. Only valid numerical inputs are permissible.
