How to Use the Dehumidifier Size Calculator

How It Calculates the Results
The dehumidifier size calculator uses the following information to estimate the size of the dehumidifier needed:
- The volume of the room in cubic feet, which is calculated by multiplying the area by the ceiling height.
- The difference between the current and desired humidity levels.
- The type of room, as different rooms have different moisture production levels.
- The climate type, as places with higher humidity require more powerful dehumidifiers.
It uses these parameters to calculate the amount of moisture that needs to be removed from the air per day, which determines the capacity of the dehumidifier needed (measured in pints per day).
Limitations
While this calculator provides a good estimate for the size of the dehumidifier you need, there are limitations:
