How to Use the Flooring Calculator
To use the flooring calculator, simply enter the width and length of your room in meters using the two input fields above. Make sure to use decimals for fractions of a meter. Once you’ve entered both dimensions, click the “Calculate” button to see the total flooring area required for your room.
How the Flooring Calculator Works
The calculator multiplies the width by the length to calculate the total area of the floor space you need to cover. It returns this value as square meters to two decimal places. Be aware that this calculator does not accommodate irregularly shaped rooms or multiple distinct spaces.
Calculator Limitations
This flooring calculator assumes all corners of the room are 90-degree angles and that each wall is directly opposite to another. It cannot accommodate L-shaped rooms, recesses, or protrusions without separate calculations for each section. Always purchase a little more flooring material than you calculate to account for mistakes and trimming.
