Gold Chain Weight Calculator – Accurate Jewelry Weight

This tool helps you calculate the exact weight of your gold chain quickly and accurately.

Gold Chain Weight Calculator

This calculator helps you estimate the weight of a gold chain based on its length, thickness, density of gold, and gold purity. To use, simply fill in the apcplicable fields and press the calculate button. Your result will be displayed in grams.

How to Use:

  1. Enter the length of the gold chain in centimeters.
  2. Enter the thickness of the gold chain in millimeters.
  3. The default density of gold is set to 19.32 grams per cubic centimeter. You can change it if needed.
  4. Enter the purity of the gold as a percentage (e.g., 24K gold is 100%, 18K gold is 75%).
  5. Click on the “Calculate” button to see the estimated weight of your gold chain in grams.

How It Calculates the Result:

The calculator uses the following formula to calculate the weight of the gold chain:

  • Volume = π x (radius)^2 x length (converted to cm)
  • Weight = Volume x Density x Purity

Where the radius is half of the chain thickness and the length is converted to centimeters.

Limitations:

This calculator provides an estimate based on geometric calculations and may not account for the actual design or variations in the chain. It assumes a uniform cylindrical shape for the chain. For precise measurements, it’s best to use a scale.
