Gravitational Force Calculator – Quick & Accurate Tool

This gravitational force calculator lets you easily compute the attractive force between two masses based on their weights and the distance between them.

Gravitational Force Calculator

How to Use the Gravitational Force Calculator

Enter the masses of two objects in kilograms (kg) and the distance between their centers in meters (m). Click on the “Calculate” button, and the result will display the gravitational force between these two objects in Newtons (N).

How It Calculates the Results

This calculator uses Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation formula: F = G * (m1 * m2) / r^2 where:

  • F is the force of attraction between two objects in Newtons.
  • G is the gravitational constant (6.67430 x 10^-11 N(m/kg)^2).
  • m1 and m2 are the masses of the objects in kilograms.
  • r is the distance between the centers of the two masses in meters.

Limitations of the Calculator

The calculator assumes a simplified model where the mass distribution of the objects is uniform and spherically symmetric and does not take into account other forces that might be acting on the objects, like friction or air resistance. Additionally, it assumes the objects are not moving relative to each other or are in an environment where Newtonian physics is applicable. For large-scale astronomical calculations or those near the speed of light, relativistic effects must be considered which are not accounted for in this calculator.
