Use this tool to calculate the cost and amount of a cord of wood tailored to your specific needs.

Cord of Wood Calculator

How to Use the Calculator

To use the cord of wood calculator, simply enter the length, width, and height of your wood pile in feet. Then, click on the “Calculate” button. The calculator will compute the volume of your wood pile and convert it into the number of cords.

How It Calculates the Results

The calculator calculates the volume of the wood pile by multiplying the length by the width by the height (L x W x H). Since one cord of wood is defined as a volume of 128 cubic feet (4 feet x 4 feet x 8 feet), the calculator then divides the total cubic feet by 128 to find the number of cords.

Limitations

This calculator assumes the wood pile to be perfectly rectangular and that all pieces are neatly stacked without large gaps. In practical scenarios, the actual volume may be slightly less due to irregularities in stacking and different sizes of wood pieces. The calculator does not take into account the moisture content of the wood, which can also affect the weight and burning properties.
