How It Calculates the Results
The calculator takes the total fabric length in yards and converts it to inches. It then calculates the total area you will be using for your projects by multiplying the project width with project length. The fabric’s usable width is also calculated by considering a 5% margin for seams. The number of projects per row is calculated by dividing the usable fabric width by the project width, and the number of rows needed is found by dividing the total fabric length by the project length. The overall number of projects you can create is then determined by multiplying the number of projects per row by the number of rows possible.
Limitations
This calculator does not account for irregular cuts, pattern orientation, or additional margins beyond the initial 5% seam allowance. Ensure to account for these factors manually if needed.
