How to Use the Mare Gestation Calculator
To use the mare gestation calculator, simply select the date of breeding from the date picker. Click the “Calculate” button, and the expected foaling date will be automatically calculated and displayed in the result field. The calculator adds 340 days, which is the average gestation period for mares, to the breeding date to estimate the foaling date.
How It Calculates
When you input the breeding date and click “Calculate,” the script creates a Date object representing that date. It then adds 340 days to that date to account for the average horse gestation period. The result is then formatted into a standard YYYY-MM-DD format and displayed.
