Explanation

This GPA calculator converts letter grades to grade points and then calculates the weighted average based on the credit hours for each course. The letter grades are converted to grade points using the following scale:

  • A: 4.0
  • A-: 3.7
  • B+: 3.3
  • B: 3.0
  • B-: 2.7
  • C+: 2.3
  • C: 2.0
  • C-: 1.7
  • D+: 1.3
  • D: 1.0
  • D-: 0.7
  • F: 0.0

Limitations

This calculator currently supports only up to four courses. Only standard letter grades from A to F (including + and -) are supported. Ensure you enter grades in the correct format to get accurate results.
