This tool calculates the payout distribution for your poker tournament based on your specified number of players and prize pool.
Poker Tournament Payout Calculator
Enter the total number of players, the buy-in amount, the number of places paid, the percentage for the first place, and the percentage decrease for the subsequent places. Click on “Calculate” to see the payout distribution.
How to Use the Calculator:
- Enter the total number of players participating in the tournament.
- Enter the buy-in amount per player in dollars.
- Enter the number of places that will be paid.
- Enter the percentage of the prize pool allocated to the first place.
- Enter the percentage decrease for each subsequent place.
- Click on the “Calculate” button to view the payout distribution.
How It Works:
This calculator divides the total prize pool, which is the product of the total number of players and the buy-in amount, among the specified number of places paid. The first place is allocated the specified percentage, and the subsequent places are allocated a proportion that decreases by the specified percentage for each place.
Limitations:
- The calculator assumes a simple linear decrease in percentages for each subsequent place.
- If the remaining percentage is less than the specified decrease, it assigns the entire remaining percentage to the last place.
Use Cases for This Calculator
Calculate Total Payout for a Tournament
Enter the total prize pool and number of places to pay out to instantly calculate the total amount that needs to be distributed among the winners.
For example, if the prize pool is $10,000 and you are paying out to the top 10 places, the calculator will display the total amount to be paid out.
Determine Individual Payout Based on Prize Structure
Input the prize rank (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) along with the corresponding prize amount to calculate the payout for that specific position.
For instance, if the prize for 1st place is $5,000 and you want to check the payout for 5th place, the calculator will show the payout for the 5th position.
Adjust Payouts with Variable Number of Entries
Change the number of tournament entries to see how the payout amounts will adjust accordingly based on the total prize pool.
For instance, if there are 100 entries at $100 each, you can see how the payouts will change compared to if there were 200 entries.
View a Breakdown of Payouts for Each Position
Get a detailed breakdown of the prize amounts for every position in the tournament by entering the prize structure into the calculator.
For example, if you want to see how the prize pool is divided among the top 20 positions, the calculator will show the payouts for each position.
Calculate Winners’ Shares for Different Buy-in Levels
Input the buy-in amount of the tournament to calculate the payouts for winners based on the new total prize pool generated from the buy-ins.
For example, if the buy-in is $50 and there are 200 players, the calculator will display the payouts based on the $10,000 prize pool.
Customize Payout Structure with Adjustable Prizes
Easily customize the payout structure by inputting the prize amounts for each rank to see how the total payout is distributed among the winners.
For instance, if you want to change the prize for 1st place to $3,000 and 2nd place to $1,500, the calculator will adjust the payouts accordingly.
Calculate Final Payouts After Rake Deduction
Enter the rake percentage or amount to calculate the final payouts after deducting the house rake from the total prize pool.
For example, if the rake is 10% and the total prize pool is $5,000, the calculator will show the payouts after deducting $500 as rake.
Instantly Update Payouts for Rebuys and Add-ons
Adjust the payout structure to include rebuys and add-ons to see how the payouts change with additional contributions to the prize pool.
For instance, if there are 50 rebuys at $20 each, the calculator will update the payouts based on the new total prize pool amount.
Calculate Payout Percentages for Each Position
Input the percentage distribution for each prize position to calculate the exact payout amounts based on the total prize pool.
For example, if you want to pay out 30% to 1st place, 20% to 2nd place, and so on, the calculator will display the corresponding payouts.
Generate a Printable Payout Schedule for the Tournament
Use the calculator to generate a printable payout schedule that lists the payout amounts for each position in the tournament, making it easy to distribute prizes to the winners.
For example, you can print out the payout schedule to display at the tournament venue for all participants to see the prize distribution.
