This tool helps you calculate the number of gallons of water in your pool.
How It Works
This calculator helps you determine the number of gallons of water your pool can hold. To use it, you need to input the length, width, shallow depth, and deep depth of your pool. You also need to select the shape of the pool, which can be either rectangular or oval. After entering these details, click the “Calculate” button to see the result.
How to Use It
- Enter the length of your pool in feet.
- Enter the width of your pool in feet.
- Enter the shallow depth of your pool in feet.
- Enter the deep depth of your pool in feet.
- Select the shape of your pool from the dropdown menu.
- Click the “Calculate” button to get the number of gallons your pool can hold.
Calculation Method
The calculator uses the average depth for the calculation:
Average Depth = (Shallow Depth + Deep Depth) / 2
For a rectangular pool, the formula is:
Pools Gallons = Length × Width × Average Depth × 7.48
For an oval pool, the formula is:
Pools Gallons = Length × Width × Average Depth × 6.7
Limitations
This calculator provides an estimate of the pool volume. It does not account for irregular shapes, steps, or water displacement due to objects in the pool.
Use Cases for This Calculator
Calculate Pool Gallons Based on Length, Width, and Depth
Enter the length, width, and depth of your pool to accurately calculate the number of gallons it can hold. This use case is perfect for homeowners who want to know the exact capacity of their pool for maintenance and treatment purposes.
Convert Pool Dimensions from Feet to Meters
If you work better with meters rather than feet, you can easily convert your pool dimensions before calculating the gallons. This feature caters to an international audience or individuals more comfortable with the metric system.
Calculate Pool Gallons with Irregular Shapes
Even if your pool has an irregular shape, you can still find out how many gallons it holds by entering the maximum length, width, and average depth. This use case ensures accuracy regardless of your pool’s shape.
Determine Gallons Needed to Fill the Pool
By entering the current water level and the desired water level, you can calculate the number of gallons needed to fill the pool. This is helpful when refilling or topping up your pool after maintenance.
Estimate Water Volume Required for Chemical Treatment
Knowing the exact pool capacity allows you to estimate the correct amount of chemicals needed for effective treatment. This use case helps in maintaining proper water balance and sanitation.
Plan Water Conservation Efforts
If you’re looking to conserve water, calculating your pool’s gallons can help you monitor usage and implement water-saving strategies. This eco-friendly use case promotes responsible pool maintenance.
Share Pool Gallons Calculation with Professionals
You can easily share the calculated pool gallons with pool maintenance professionals or service providers for accurate chemical dosages or equipment recommendations. This feature facilitates seamless communication.
Compare Gallons of Different Pools
By calculating the gallons of multiple pools, you can compare their sizes and capacities. This use case is handy for pool owners considering upgrades or renovations.
Track Pool Water Evaporation Rate
By regularly calculating the pool gallons, you can monitor variations due to evaporation and weather conditions. Tracking these changes helps in adjusting water levels and maintaining pool integrity.
Set Reminders for Regular Calculations
You can set reminders to calculate your pool gallons at regular intervals for consistent maintenance and management. This use case ensures your pool remains in top condition throughout the year.
