How to Use the Pool Salt Calculator
Input the volume of your pool in gallons, the desired salinity in ppm (parts per million), and your pool’s current salinity level in ppm. Then, click the “Calculate” button to find out how much salt you need to add to your pool.
How It Works
The calculator determines the difference between your desired salinity and your current salinity, multiplies that by the volume of your pool and then divides by 1000 to convert to the proper weight of salt in pounds needed.
Limitations
This calculator assumes that the pool volume is entered in gallons and the salinity in ppm. It does not account for different shapes or depths of pools, which might lead to small discrepancies in the required salt amount. Furthermore, it cannot accommodate negative values if your pool’s current salinity is already higher than the desired level.
