This rational function calculator helps you quickly find the simplified form of any ratio of two polynomials.

## Rational Function Calculator

### How to Use the Calculator

Enter the coefficients of your rational function in the format “ax^b+cx^d+…” where a, b, c, d,… are numerical values, in the numerator and denominator fields. For example, use “2x^2+3x+1” format without any spaces. You must also provide the value of x to evaluate the function at that point.

### How the Calculator Works

The calculator parses the polynomials for both numerator and denominator, evaluates them using the provided x-value, and then divides the results from the numerator by the denominator to provide the output.

### Limitations

This calculator only works with polynomials that have their terms separated by ‘+’ or ‘-‘ and their powers denoted by ‘^’. It does not support any implicit multiplication without an asterisk, nor does it handle any other functions like trigonometric, exponential or logarithmic functions.
