How It Calculates
The calculator works by converting the depth from inches to feet, then multiplying the area (in square feet) by the converted depth to find the volume in cubic feet. This volume is then multiplied by the density of the rock to find the total weight in pounds.
Limitations
This calculator assumes a uniform spread of rock and consistent density. It does not account for irregularities in shape and compaction which may affect the actual amount needed. Always consider purchasing a little extra material to accommodate for variations and settling.
