This timecode calculator will help you add, subtract, and convert timecode values for video editing and production tasks.
Timecode Calculator
Explanation
The Timecode Calculator computes the difference between two timecodes. Timecodes are typically formatted in hours, minutes, seconds and frames (hh:mm:ss:ff).
How to Use
To use the calculator, input the start and end timecodes in the hh:mm:ss:ff format, and then click the ‘Calculate’ button. The result will display the timecode difference. If the end timecode is earlier than the start timecode, the result will be shown with a negative sign.
How It Calculates
The calculator converts each timecode into a total number of frames, then computes the difference in frames, and finally converts the frame difference back into a timecode format.
Limitations
The calculator assumes a standard frame rate of 30 FPS (frames per second). It does not support timecodes with different frame rates or millisecond precision.
