Use this TI-RADS calculator tool to assess thyroid nodules’ risk of malignancy based on standardized ultrasound criteria.
Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (TI-RADS) Calculator
How to Use the TI-RADS Calculator
Simply select the appropriate value for each ultrasound feature of your thyroid nodule from the dropdown menus above. Once you’ve made your selection for each feature, click the “Calculate” button. The TI-RADS score along with the associated category will be displayed in the “Result” field.
How it Calculates the Results
The TI-RADS calculator assigns points based on the features of thyroid nodules observed in an ultrasound. The points for each category are then summed to give a total score, which correlates with the risk of the nodule being malignant. Based on the total points, the calculator will assign a TI-RADS level from TR1 (benign) to TR5 (highly suspicious).
Limitations
While the TI-RADS calculator is a useful tool for assessing thyroid nodules, it is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis. The results are dependent on the accuracy of the ultrasound and the features selected. In cases of uncertainty or high-risk results, further investigation, such as a biopsy, is often warranted. Always consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
