Our trig identities calculator will quickly compute values for the fundamental trigonometric functions, making it easier for you to solve trigonometry problems.
Trigonometric Identities Calculator
Use this calculator to compute the trigonometric functions of an angle. Simply enter the angle in degrees into the input box, select the desired trigonometric function, and click “Calculate”.
How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the angle in degrees in the first input field.
- Select the trigonometric function you wish to calculate (sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, or cot) from the dropdown menu.
- Click the “Calculate” button to get the result.
How It Calculates
The calculator first converts the input angle from degrees to radians by multiplying it by π/180. Then, it calculates the result based on the selected trigonometric function:
- Sin – the sine of the angle
- Cos – the cosine of the angle
- Tan – the tangent of the angle
- Csc (cosecant) – the reciprocal of the sine
- Sec (secant) – the reciprocal of the cosine
- Cot (cotangent) – the reciprocal of the tangent
Limitations
As trigonometric functions like tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent can have undefined values, the calculator will display “Undefined” in such cases (e.g., tan(90°) is undefined). Please note that results are rounded to four decimal places. For angles not expressible in finite decimal form, the results can only be approximations of the true values.
