How to Use the YTD Calculator
To use the Year-to-Date calculator, enter the start date of the period, the end date, and the yearly amount. Then, click on the “Calculate” button to find out the Year-to-Date amount for the given period.
How It Calculates the Results
The calculator first validates the entered dates and the yearly amount. It then calculates the number of days from the start of the year to the start date, the number of elapsed days in the period, and uses these values to proportionally calculate the YTD amount based on the yearly amount provided.
Limitations of the Calculator
The YTD calculator assumes that the yearly amount is evenly distributed throughout the year, which may not be the case for all situations. It also does not take into account leap years for start dates before February 29.
