Reverb Calculator: Optimize Your Room Acoustics Instantly

Use this reverb calculator to quickly determine the optimal reverb time for your room based on its dimensions.

Reverb Time Calculator

Use this calculator to estimate the reverberation time in a rectangular room. Reverberation time is the time it takes for sound to decay by 60 decibels after the source has stopped.

How to Use

  1. Enter the room’s length, width, and height in meters into the appropriate fields.
  2. Click the “Calculate” button to compute the reverberation time.
  3. Review the result displayed in the “Result” field.

How It Calculates Results

The calculator uses the Sabine formula to estimate the reverberation time (RT60) for a rectangular room with hard surfaces. The formula is RT60 = 0.161 * (Volume of the room in cubic meters). This calculation assumes a nearly empty room with hard walls, which provides a rough estimate for reverberation time.

Limitations

The calculator does not account for the absorption of sound by furniture, people, or other objects in the room. It also does not consider the materials of the walls, ceiling, and floor, which can significantly affect the reverb time. Use this calculator for a basic estimation and consult an acoustic expert for a detailed analysis.
